Shaun Murphy, M.D. grew up in Richardson, Texas and went to Jesuit High School where he was salutatorian of his graduating class. He received his medical training at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed his residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He began practice in the area in 1999 and joined Dallas Medical Specialists in July 2004. He is Chairman of the Board and the Medical Director of Dallas Medical Specialists.

“Patients know what is best for them. My duty as a physician is to listen to my patients and together, with them, develop a plan for them to achieve their best possible health. I will provide the highest quality of care and I will do so in an honest, compassionate and respectful manner,” said Dr. Murphy.

Dr. Murphy has special interests in diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, weight management, and medical management of patients after bariatric (obesity) surgery.

When away from the practice, Dr. Murphy enjoys golf, fishing and computer games, and is an aquarium enthusiast.
